euskir music: bienvenidos a un nuevo concepto en management de música, y músicos / welcome to a new concept in music, and musicians management

Hola, es tiempo. Tiempo para euskir music de abandonar su "modo subterráneo".

Después de muchos años en comunicaciones y medios (publicidad, cine, radio, tv, medios gráficos, música), he hecho la mudanza a una operación completamente independiente llamada "euskir music".

euskir music, el nombre del proyecto, en su tercer año ahora, y no es un projecto comercial.
Bueno, ¿qué es entonces?

Esta es una organización sin fines de lucro para apoyar a músicos independientes con asesoramiento profesional en muchas áreas, incluyendo todo tipo de información, desde tratos con sellos discográficos a presentaciones en clubes y festivales, relaciones públicas y medios (internet, tv, radio, revistas, diarios), creando enlaces entre músicos alrededor de todo el mundo, y sobre todo, ayudando a los músicos.

El trabajo en red es importante, e internet es una herramienta brillante, porque hace de las distancias físicas algo enormemente irrelevante.

Pueden construir un estudio virtual, transmitir musica en vivo, y por supuesto difundir el trabajo de los artistas que no tienen acceso a los medios masivos.
Internet es el "nuevo medio masivo gratuito", algo más que interesante.

La "base central" de euskir music está en Argentina, pero mantengo conexiones abiertas con músicos y organizaciones en Estados Unidos y Europa.

De momento todo el dinero está viniendo de mi propio bolsillo, pero hay planes activos en marcha para asociaciones.

Uno de los aspectos particulares es que es difícil encontrar gente con mis antecedentes profesionales, que también se encuentren profundamente enamorados de la música.

Estoy trabajando con un pequeño grupo de músicos, incluyendo algunos artistas con contratos en bien conocidos sellos, pero no están felices con sus compañías.

De tanto en tanto habrá una oportunidad para convertir el servicio en un modelo combinado. Algunos músicos pagarían un monto por algunos servicios especiales, por ejemplo, y este es un buen ejemplo porque un artista con quien estoy trabajando me quiere para encargarme del management online (manteniendo websites, blogs, Facebook , MySpace, Twitter, etc.), y otros, aquellos con contratos en grandes o medianos sellos pagarían un pequeño monto fijo.
De esta forma, los artistas mejor posicionados apoyan el desarrollo de aquellos luchando por hacerse espacio. Esto es similar a la estructura de varias organizaciones de derechos de intérprete como SOCAN.
El más grande apoya al más chico
Actualmente, de todas formas, el servicio permanece 100% gratuito, ¡aún cuando esto sirve como una movediza ruta hacia mi propia pobreza! No me estoy quejando.

He estado pensando en estos días sobre un cabo suelto antes que euskir music deje su modo silencioso. Debería quedar claro que no estoy desafiando la forma en que los managers tratan con el arte y los artistas. Tengo un compromiso del 100% con la escena independiente, sin ninguna intención de saltar a un modelo comercial completo. Puedo ofrecer también a los managers mi ayuda, o colaborar.

Esa es parte de la filosofía de euskir music: unir fuerzas, no dividir.

Entonces, bienvenidos a un lugar para disfrutar de la pura belleza de la música, ayudando a talentosos e independientes músicos a mantener su arte vivito y coleando.


Hello, is time. Time for euskir music to leave its "underground mode".

After many years in communications and media (advertising, movies, radio, tv, graphic media, music), I made the move to a whole independent operation called "euskir music".

euskir music, the name of the project, in its third year now, and is not a commercial project.
Well, what is it then?

It's a non profit organization to support independent musicians with professional counselling in many areas, including all kind of information, from record label deals to clubs and festivals presentations, public relations and media (internet, tv, radio, magazines, newspapers), creating links between musicians around the world, and above all helping the musicians.

Networking is important, and the internet is a brilliant tool, because it makes physical distance largely irrelevant.

You can build a virtual studio, stream live music, and of course spread the work from the artists that don't have access to mass media.
Internet is the new "free mass media", something more than interesting.

The base station for euskir music is in Argentina, but I keep open connections with musicians and organizations in the USA and Europe.

So far all the money is coming from my own pocket, although there are active plans in the works for affiliations.

One of the unique aspects is that it's hard to find people with my professional background who are also deeply in love with music.

I'm working with a small group of musicians, including some artists with contracts at well known labels, but who are not happy with their companies.

From time to time, there will be a chance to turn the service into a combined model. Some musicians would pay a fee for special services, for example, an artist I'm working with, wants me take on their online management (websites, blogs, Facebook , MySpace, Twitter, etc..) and others, the ones with contracts with big or medium labels would pay a small fixed fee.
In this way, the more established artists support the development of those struggling to make a dent. This is akin to the structure of various performing rights organizations such as SOCAN.

At present, however, the service remains 100% free, even when this works as a bumpy road to my own poverty! I'm not complaining.

I had just been thinking about a loose end before euskir music leaves stealth mode. It should be clear that I'm not challenging the way managers deal with art and artists. I've got a 100% commitment to the independent scene, without any intention to jump into a full commercial mode. I can offer my help to managers though, or collaborate.

That's part of euskir music's philosophy: to join forces, not to divide.
